I’m Sakthisree, a young researcher in the field of AI/ML, a Machine Learning Lead at a Retail Company and a Tech-Policy enthusiast. I am also proud to be a Senior Program Officer for the Knowledge divison at a wonderful non-profit organization - One Future Collective. My pronouns are (She/her). I grew up in the coastal city named Chennai, situated in the South of India.
I graduated from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Coimbatore) with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and Engineering (First Class Distinction - 8.8/10) in the year 2020. Since graduation, I have been selected as a fellow for two well-known fellowships in India, the One Future Collective Fellowship and the Citizens for Public Leadership Fellowship, where I implemented and performed many milestones in the area of Leadership, Social Justice and Policy.
As a researcher, I currently work part-time under Prof. Pavlos Protopapas from Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, on solving differential equations using neural networks. I am looking to further focus my research in the area of Causal models and self-supervision, with applications in healthcare. I am currently performing independent research in the same.
Outside of my technical interests, I enjoy:
- Listening and crying out of wonder at Jazz & Bossa Nova.
- Creating learning materials and couses on AI/ML for students from grade 9-12.
- Tech policy research and creation of policy proposals to Tamil Nadu State Govt. and Central Govt. of India.
- Scriptwriting & making digital art.
- Taking courses, workshops and talks on fair and intersectional approach to data projects and methodologies in the Global South.
- Reading a lot of books!!!

At the ATLAS detector at CERN, very high energy protons are accelerated in a circular trajectory in both directions thus colliding with themselves and resulting in hundreds of particles per second.The goal of the Challenge is to improve the classification procedure that produces the selection region. This is a very interesting dataset to work on and perhaps explore self-supervision as well, such as VIME.

The benefits of technical innovation have been real, and risks from heavy-handed intervention are high. Yet just as the need is growing, our level of mindful tech capacity in the govt. remains low. For example, India has a reputation of invasive data usage and security vulnerabilities in its own citizen-based technology such as Arogya Setu or Aadhar. Tech expertise is hard to find in our cabinet secretaries or senior political leadership, and key Parliamentary science and tech discussions seem to remain naïve and chronically discriminatory.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, several methods have been utilized to assist physicians in diagnosing COVID-19.Medical imaging takes a key role in complementing diagnostic tools from molecular biology, and, using deep learning techniques, it's even possible to build automated detection systems. I will be focusing on the lung ultrasound (LUS) imaging, with the goal to improve existing LUS-based detection techniques.

The World Happiness Report was recommended to be a good starting point for guaging world wide bliss. I perform this analysis, in order to understand what factors really make a country happy. The results that I got at the end are quite interesting.

We use a lot of libraries and indeed there are tutorials online for the same. But wouldn't it be better if we coded our own classifier from scratch to distinguish digits? Let's use the Kudzu library - which I created from scratch - where all the implementation for running a neural network is coded in.
